The present study presents five coins from the Ottoman era, discovered during field research in the Marcianopolis Archaeological Reserve. Two are copper, one is billon, and the other two are silver. Chronologically, the earliest issues are two akçe of Sultan Mehmed III (1595 – 1603). One copper issue dates from the second half of the 15th – 17th c entury, and the other (10 para) w as m inted by Sultan Abdülmecid I (1839 – 1861). The billon issue (20 para) was minted by Sultan Mahmud II (1808 – 1839). The coins do not originate from a preserved archaeological context from the time of their minting, but they may provide initial information about the coin circulation in the region during the Ottoman rule.
